The last question is not North Korea as it ranks around 40th when it comes to the size of their military. Question 4 is also ambiguous as it asks “How many wars has America declared?” The US has declared war in 5 conflicts using 11 different declarations. 5 or 11 should be correct. Come on AMAC get it together!!!!!!

Wow, this Air Force retiree obviously doesn’t know a lot about military history, scoring only 4/10 correctly with some guesses. Thanks for the history lesson though I’m not sure how much I’ll recall.

According to AMAC’s quiz I got 8 out of 10 missing #4 and #10. The problem is I answered 5 on question #4 which is also correct as we declared war in only 5 conflicts but several declarations were made for some wars such as WWII where we declared war on several different countries at different times. Misleading. Question 10 claims North Korea has the largest military but I can find no sources to back that up. All sources I found show that the US has the largest military.

Maybe N. Korea has the largest Military based on % of country’s total income or % of population that is serving. I would guess China has the largest Military based on number of personnel in uniform.

Improved from 7 out of 10 this morning to 10 out of 10 this afternoon. I really enjoy AMAC’s games — it is a wonderful opportunity to learn. And, YES! I hope next week’s subject is Memorial Day — it is more than a Monday away from work!

If you missed 4 and 10 you actually got 10/10.

Marti, my family was honored to serve in The United States Navy. Dad served (21 total years) on CV-1 The USS Langley, and on CV-4 The USS Ranger. The Langley had been converted from a balloon tender in WW-1 into the first aircraft carrier. The ranger was the first ship designed from the keel up to be an aircraft carrier. Brother was on a destroyer for a time. I failed the physical, and would have been the first officer in the family in the Navy. Fishing trip in the gulf with those two swab jockeys was a blast, the both got sea sick, and I had to take over as “skipper.” Thank ALL OF YOU People Of The United States for that gift, that beautiful Star Spangled Banner type with all those bright stars and long stripes when dad passed away. We shook in our shoes when dad went to sea, because we never knew if the old sea dog would return, or not. There was a sort of skirmish going on with some Japanese fellers, and later some Korean fellers.

If we entered into 11 “Congressionally declared” wars, I’m unaware of it. Most of what we have been involved in have either been approved “actions” or under UN directive and control. The last actual Congressionally declared war we entered was World War 2.

I agree; I’d like to know if they mean officially declared as oppossed to “approved actions” as you put it. However, I can think of more: War of 1812; Mexican American war; Spanish American War, WW1 and WW2. My answer was 8, as I assumed there were others that I missed or because of what the word “declared” actually means. Does the Revolutionary war count? Does the Civil War count?

We declared war in 5 conflicts. Congress however declared war 11 different times as WWII was several declarations. Japan was first then Germany and Italy. Later Bulgaria, Hungary and Romaniawere declared. Misleading question and 5 and 11 should be correct.

Thought for sure China has largest military, based on number of enlisted people. Maybe China doesn’t have much of a navy.
