Biden’s Border Policies are Fueling the Fentanyl Crisis in America

A 13-year-old child in Connecticut collapsed during gym class and was rushed to the hospital; he died two days later of what doctors concluded was a fentanyl overdose. Two other students at the school were also rushed to the hospital over similar concerns. When school officials investigated, they found 40 bags of powdered fentanyl hidden throughout the middle school.

In the United States, synthetic opioids are the primary driver of drug overdose deaths. Between June 2020 and May 2021, fentanyl and synthetic opioids accounted for nearly two-thirds of more than 100,000 deaths in the U.S.

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is 80-100 times stronger than morphine. Originally developed for pharmaceutical purposes, fentanyl is now being illicitly laced within pills as well as disguised as highly potent heroin. Four out of every 10 fake pills with fentanyl contain a potentially deadly dose. Two milligrams of fentanyl is considered a lethal dose.

One country is taking over the production of fentanyl: Mexico.

Mexican cartels that once ran marijuana and opium have shifted with the market and are now importing fentanyl from China and pressing it into pills and other drugs. According to the U.S. Department of Defense, cartels are increasingly building huge, industrial-scale labs to churn out synthetic drugs.

The Drug Enforcement Administration reports that cartels mass produce the pills in Mexico to make them appear as oxycodone, hydrocodone, Percocet and Adderall and then they market them in the U.S. as pharmaceuticals. Drug trafficking organizations typically distribute fentanyl by the kilogram. One kilogram has the potential to kill 500,000 people.

During Fiscal Year 2021, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CPB) officers at eight South Texas ports of entry noted a 1,066% increase in fentanyl seizures, totaling 588 pounds. This spike occurred during a significant decrease in international travel due do COVID-19 travel restrictions.

In the same amount of time, Texas law enforcement authorities seized enough fentanyl to make up more than 36.2 million lethal doses.

While such amounts are astonishing, the truth is that U.S. officials have no way of knowing how much has entered into the country without detection.

That’s because the cartels are essentially in charge of the U.S.-Mexico border. People and contraband that enter the United States via Mexico illegally do so with strategic and careful planning by Mexican organized crime, and someone always profits.

When large groups of people illegally cross the border at once, Border Patrol agents are forced to send all of their resources to one area, freeing up other areas for cartels to send through drugs, weapons, and criminal illegal immigrants.

Neither the fentanyl crisis nor the border crisis are new. But both are worsened under the disastrous policies of the Biden administration.

The Department of Homeland Security knows that the policies of the Biden administration are inflaming the border crisis, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas acknowledged to Border Patrol agents that those policies “are not particularly popular with CBP… but that’s the reality.”

The reality is that the U.S. has lost control of the border, and if we continue to stand idly by, every state will continue to see an increase in fentanyl-related medical emergencies and deaths.

Fentanyl overdoses have become the No. 1 cause of death among U.S. adults ages 18-45. Overdoses have soared in America’s youth so much so that some public schools are now requiring nurses to stock naloxone—or Narcan—for  potential fentanyl overdoses.

Criminal organizations are in the business of making money by defeating our security and they work at it full time—and so should we. The U.S. can go on the offensive in defeating the fentanyl crisis, but the federal government must be willing to take the lead.

In Texas, the Texas Department of Public Safety is working overtime to intercept human and drug smuggling. While it has worked mightily, CBP must be allowed to do its job—and that job is to stop illegal entry into the U.S.

Personnel are the most valuable resource that CBP has, though infrastructure and technology improve the effectiveness and efficiency of each individual officer and agent. The federal government should not decrease the amount of agents in the field, nor should it continue to block the construction of physical infrastructure—the wall—along the border.

Enforcing the Migrant Protection Protocols, returning to the Asylum Cooperative Agreements with all three Northern Triangle countries, and loosening restrictions concerning ICE’s enforcement authorities are just a few of the things the federal government could start doing to make a dent in the illicit drugs streaming in from Mexico.

Nothing that crosses the border stays at the border. The federal government is responsible for securing America’s borders, and it has failed.

While the “experts” and officialdom would not shut up about the Black death aka covid all this was quietly going on and accepted as a fact of life and press ever so modest had not even hinted that there is a bit of the problem

What percentage is the “Big Guy” getting for facilitating drug smuggling at the US/Mexico border?

The federal government has failed on all counts. It is biden’s and his team’s #1 responsibility to keep American citizens safe, and he has failed us miserably. If they don’t want to do their jobs, then give the border states all the necessary funding and manpower to do it properly. That means complete the Wall, send in the National Guard to help, and give those states full authority to deal with the crisis.

Biden and harris clearly are unwilling to do anything to prevent these needless deaths. They’re just seat-warmers. What are they doing “for the children” now, as Pelosi always claims to be concerned about? I don’t know what’s in the works to render the fentanyl factories and drug cartels “gone/poof!”, but we should be moving in that direction. The longer we and Mexico delay in shutting down those operations, the bigger and more powerful they get. Why is it okay to let them continue? They are ruthless, and I don’t doubt they’re establishing more “factories” in this country. Maybe Hunter can talk to his Chinese friends…oh, never mind. His hand might be in that cookie jar.

All mayhem is breaking loose with these jokers in government. Remember to vote for Conservatives, or at least Republicans, in November to start regaining normalcy in America. Enough with the dems; get ’em out!

Kim, what’s we need here is right now is that both Biden and Harris should be impeached immediately, otherwise, as you say, it is only going to get worse. Because we don’t have the right people in Congress except for very few good Republicans, it’s impossible right now to do so. Hopefully, people will vote for Republicans in November and also hopefully, these new Republicans will be honest enough to do their job well and care for our country and the American people who vote for them.

40 bags throughout the school. Obviously, supply is plentiful. That’ll drive down the price for the “consumers.” There is no telling how many customers there are in that ONE school. Middle schools are usually pretty small, so there is a high probability that a majority, or plurality, of the school children are buyers. There is a way to reduce supply. If leadership of our country would stop calling anyone that disagrees with them horrible names, that would be helpful. Some kind of effort should be made to reduce supply. Small supply would make higher prices, and hence to expensive to purchase, like EGGS are now. (soon big chicken will be blamed for that)

Not coincidentally, a lot of this problem accelerated drastically on January 20, 2021 at around 12:30 in the after noon, eastern time with the wide opening of the southern border. It seems like I frequently hear of “migrants” (I call them SMUGGLERS) being caught with considerable quantities of this poison as they are crossing the border, or soon after they got away (hence the name “gotaways” but I call them SMUGGLERS too) from CBP and INS. Now I’m not blaming 46, (largely because he is mentally incapable and oblivious of the problem but instead reverts blaming someone, or something else as he has done since he was 4 years old.) but I am blaming whoever is making his decisions and implementing them for him.

We should absolutely blame 46! He’s never even been to the border. A good start would be to order the Wall completed, as it has already been funded, and send those new 87,000 IRS agents there to harrass the illegals instead of us.

If you have not read or heard yet, Pres. Biden has now authorized the continued building of Pres. Trump’s border wall. Of course, Biden will take all the credit especially since it is before the mid-term elections. Another attempt to divert attention that the Dems have the nation’s welfare in hand. Hopefully the voter will not fall for this deception.

Msx, I don’t think Biden will do anything. He just talk and do nothing except to bring more crisis.

They used to call middle school junior high. The issues of those days were what was on the cafeteria menu and what did they do in P.E. But I regress, why are we repulsed when drugs come across the so called secured border. They can’t keep it out of prisons let alone middle school. As for 13 year old children overdosing, what are we teaching children in school these days? The system gets a fail.

When are Americans going to understand that Democrats don’t care about them.
They care only about 3 things:
1 Staying in Power – and they will do a thing including destroying normals to do it.
2. Hating Donald Trump simply because he cares for normal Americans. Dems only care for rich cultural elites.
3. Growing the government so that they can control and centralize every aspect of normal peoples lives.

BTW. John Fetterman is a pathetic idiot. I live in PA and he never did anything good for the city of Braddock. He lived off a stipend from his rich elitist daddy.
Don’t be deceived!

Sorry Ref. But with the mail in voting being allowed to happen again in PA you can rest assured that the legitimate vote will be cancelled out by fraud by the democrat communists. Comrade Fetterman is a Bernie Sanders, card carrying, hammer and sickle communist. He will empty the prisons and destroy PA. My only hope is that these murderer’s move into liberal neighborhoods to do what everyone knows what they will do. The GOP will never win another election in PA as long as this type of voter fraud is permitted to happen.
